Dave Rhamy President/CEO
Dave Rhamy has been Silver State Schools Credit Union’s President and Chief Executive Officer since 1999. For the ten years prior to his SSSCU appointment, Dave played a leadership role in membership growth initiatives at several highly successful financial institutions, including Vandenberg FCU, Kern Schools Federal Credit Union and American National Bank. Previous to this, Dave worked as an Auditor/Evaluator for the US General Accounting Office in Washington, D.C. assigned to the House Appropriations Committee staff.
He is past Chairman of Western Federal Corporate Credit Union (Wescorp), and has served on its Board of Directors since 1995. Dave is also an active volunteer and supporter of the California/Nevada Credit Union League and the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation. He is involved in numerous community activities, including the Governors’ Advisory Council, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Advisory Council, and Las Vegas Kids Voting.
Carol J. Gibson Executive VP/COO
Carol
Gibson has been with Silver State Schools Credit Union since 1976. Beginning as
a teller, she advanced to become a Loan Officer, then Branch Manager, Operations/Accounting
Manager, and Vice President in charge of branches, loans, collections, accounting
and human resources. In her current position as Executive Vice President, she is
responsible for mortgage and consumer lending, CUSO/investment services, accounting/finance,
information technology and human resources.
Carol holds leadership positions in business and in the community. She is active on the board of Kids Voting/Greater Las Vegas, is an advisory committee member for the California/Nevada Credit Union League Annual Meeting, and has been appointed secretary of the Nevada Credit Union League board of directors.
Gilbert Niimi Executive Vice President
Gilbert
Niimi has served as head of marketing operations since 1998, and was promoted to
Executive Vice President in 2003. He is responsible for the management of Silver
State Schools’ branch services and operations, marketing, and business development.
Gilbert spearheaded Silver State Schools Credit Union’s branding initiative,
and has extensive experience in product development, generational marketing, and
asset and liability analysis. Prior to joining SSSCU, he served in various sales
and marketing positions with Hawaiian Airlines, Liberty Bank, Bank of America Hawaii,
and Pacific Century Bank.
Gilbert is Chairman of the Board of the Campus Credit Union Council, and also sits as board member of the California/Nevada Youth Involvement Network.
Bernard A. King Senior VP/CFO
Bernie
King joined SSSCU in 1993 as Vice President of Finance. He was promoted to Senior
Vice President/Chief Financial Officer in January 1995. In this capacity, Bernie
is responsible for the general financial performance of the credit union, including
investments, ALM, forecasting, and accounting. Before he joined SSSCU, Bernie’s
experiences in the financial services industry spanned 20 years; 12 of them in senior
management positions. He served 22 years as Major in the Medical Services Corps,
U.S. Army Reserves, retiring in 1988.
Bernie is a member of both the CUNA CFO Council, and the CFO Network (a California/Nevada CFO organization). He is a member of the finance committee of his church (St. James R.C.), and is Editor and Publisher of Knights News, a monthly newsletter for the Knights of Columbus.
