OFX FAQ

Q: What is OFX?

A: Open Financial Exchange or OFX is an industry standard for electronic transfer of financial data between financial institutions (Silver State Schools Credit Union) and our clients via the Internet. It delivers banking transactions and other financial information from SSSCU directly to you using Microsoft Money/Intuit's Quicken Products.

Q: Are all versions of Microsoft Money & Intuit's Quicken supported?

A: Yes, all version are supported.

Q: What financial functions can I perform in Money/Quicken?

A: Currently, members have the ability to download statements and transfer money to/from valid SSSCU accounts.

Q: How do I get my data into Money/Quicken?

A: If your version of Money/Quicken supports OFX, you can import the data automatically by creating a link to your SSSCU Account(s).

If your version does NOT support OFX, you will need to manually download your account history by logging into your SSSCU Account(s) and downloading a QIF file for each share and import it into Money/Quicken.

Q: What are my login credentials for Money/Quicken and OFX?

A: Your login credentials are the same as your e-Access credentials. If you are not currently setup for our e-Access service, you will need to do so before attempting to login.

Q: Will my financial transactions be secure?

A: Money implements the latest 128 bit encryption schema to ensure that all of your transactions are as secure as possible.

Q: Why can't I login to e-Access after changing my password in Money/Quicken?

A: Since e-Access and Money/Quicken both use the same credentials, if you change your password in Money/Quicken your password will also change in e-Access and vice versa.

Q: What is the charge for using the OFX service via Money/Quicken?

A: There is no charge for using the online OFX service within Money/Quicken.

Q: How many days of data may I download into Money/Quicken?

A: Members will be able to acquire the same amount of account transaction history as in our e-Access service, which is 180 days or 250 transactions, whichever occurs first.

Q: Why aren't all of my shares available for Quicken?

A: If you have more than 6 shares associated with your account only 6 will show up the first time you run the Account Setup. Run the Account Setup a second time to gain access to the rest of your shares.

Q: I am receiving an error message stating, "There is a problem with the data received from this Online provider," what should I do?

A: The very first thing you should do is backup your current Microsoft Money/ Intuit's Quicken data. Next, verify that you do not have any accounts listed in your accounts list that are currently closed. If you come across an account that is closed, right click on the account, select the delete option, and choose OK within the confirmation window.

Q: I am receiving an error message stating, "The connection has timed out because the Internet, banking or brokerage server you are trying to contact is busy. Please try your call again later." What should I do?
