Silver State Schools Credit Union (SSSCU), a Las Vegas based financial institution, serving its members since 1951, is set to showcase 13 talented students, Kindergarten through 12th grade, for their winning submissions to the Happy Times 2023 Calendar. This marks the 37th Anniversary of the annual SSSCU calendar.

Students from across Southern Nevada were asked to create art that makes them happy, with one winner selected from each grade K-12th, to be featured in the Silver State Schools CU People Over Profit (POP) Foundation and the Silver State Schools Credit Union annual calendar. Over time, submissions have averaged about 2,000 entries annually. This year, we surpassed that average, and for the first time, SSSCU received over 3,000 pieces of art!

Winning students and teachers will be honored at this year’s Happy Times Calendar Awards Ceremony, on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 6:00 PM at the Blasco Room, located in the Foundation Building, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Winning students receive their original artwork framed as well as a $200 check, and their art teachers will also receive a check for $200 to use towards art supplies for their classroom. The winning pieces of art are displayed year-round at the Westcliff Branch and Tule Springs Branch of Silver State Schools Credit Union. The awards ceremony will also be live streamed on Facebook and can be accessed by visiting facebook.com/silverstatecu.
