Each year, Silver State Schools Credit Union (SSSCU), in partnership with the Clark County School District (CCSD) and a Southern Nevada auto dealership, comes together to recognize an educator who makes a lasting difference both inside and outside the classroom. Through the annual Teacher New Car Giveaway, SSSCU and partners honor the dedication, passion, and impact educators bring to our community every day.
This year’s recipient, Sierra Slentz, is a ceramics and 3D art teacher at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. Known for encouraging creativity and self-expression, she creates a classroom environment where students feel supported, inspired, and empowered to explore their artistic potential. Her influence extends beyond her students through her involvement in campus art programs and community-based creative projects.
In addition to her role as an educator, Slentz has shown remarkable strength and resilience while navigating difficult personal circumstances. Throughout it all, her commitment to her students has remained unwavering as she shows up, inspires, and makes an impact where it matters most.
“Our educators shape the future of our community,” said Scott Arkills, President and CEO of Silver State Schools Credit Union. “This program is one way we recognize that impact and stand behind those who give so much to others. We are proud to partner with the Clark County School District and Towbin Kia to support an outstanding educator.”
The Teacher Car Giveaway reflects SSSCU’s ongoing commitment to supporting educators in meaningful ways. By providing reliable transportation, this year’s award helps ease day-to-day challenges, allowing Mrs. Slentz to continue focusing on what she does best, inspiring students.
Watch the beautiful moment unfold.
